About hope elders
1 Timothy 3:1-11, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4, and Hebrews 13:17-18 are a few key passages where we are Biblically instructed on "Elders" as the body of spiritual overseers in local churches who serve, lead, teach, and protect the church. Elders can be staff or non-staff, as we currently have at HOPE, but must be respected believers who demonstrate Christian maturity since they are the ones who willingly serve the Church Family to lead and guide in our shared vision, strategy and purpose.
The Elders study and seek God's Word and depend on the Holy Spirit in weighing and making wise decisions before God and each other on behalf of God's people. They seek a unity of mind and spirit that is produced by their submission to the Bible's teachings, the Holy Spirit and to one another.
