Part 3, Lean Not

What is the key to making great decisions? Most people would likely agree that having the right information is crucial to making decisions. But while information is very important, it is not the most critical factor in guaranteeing you make the right choice. In fact, if you think about it, you know some really smart people who have made really dumb decisions. So what is it? In this message we'll look at something that is even more important than information when it comes to choosing your path.

Part 2, Looking Ahead

Destinations, Part Two - Looking Ahead

We've all ended up places we never meant to be--where life was complicated and there were seemingly no good options. And looking back we saw the warning signs. We just chose to ignore them. But it doesn't have to be that way. By looking back at an old wise saying we'll learn to look ahead and avoid the danger that lies in wait for us down the road.

Proverbs 27:12

Part 1, The Path Principle

Destinations, Part One - The Path Principle

Think about the last time you were traveling and got lost. You had your destination in mind. You had every intention of getting there. But you took the wrong path, and you didn't end up where you wanted to be. A disconnect often occurs between the path you choose and where you want to end up. This is the principle of the path and we'll discover how it impacts every area of your life.

reNew Commit

God causes growth and maturity in His children through 1) personal renewal, and 2) relational renewal. This weekend, we'll look at 3) missional renewal, 4) cultural renewal, and 5) structural renewal. Based on the life and teachings of Jesus, I can't imagine a better way in establishing our renewed commitment to living out and sharing the message of our eternal hope into 2010 and beyond.

Part 3 - Love

Love is a loaded word. Many of us know it when we feel it, but there are differences of opinion in how it should be expressed, said, or shown. How can we go beyond just saying you love people to showing them? In this final week of our message series, we will see how God has taken the lead on the subject of love. Now, it's our turn to follow His lead and help others experience love.

Part 2 - Peace

Part 2 – Peace

Why is it that Christmas is one of the least peaceful times of the year? Whether it’s the long lines at the stores or buying gifts we can afford in light of the economy, Christmas can easily become something we just want to get through and survive. But peace, true peace, has little to do with what is going on around us. In fact, Jesus came to bring peace to our lives in a way that defies logic. And He also invites us to participate with Him in bringing peace to those around us, as well.

Part 1 - Hope

Christmas is a time filled with great expectations. We expect that snow will fall on Christmas morning. We expect that Martha Stewart-esque gathering. We expect a gift from that special someone. And for many of us, we expect our lives to look a certain way. But what happens when life doesn’t meet our expectations? How can we have hope in something bigger than what we want or dream? And how can that hope in something bigger really affect our lives—for the better?

Jesus Gives Thanks

To live a life of gratitude we must live a life with His attitude.

Jesus lived and demonstrated a life of gratitude as he served others and gave Himself for us. When Jesus shared His last meal with his closest friends, his disciples, He took bread, gave thanks, broke it and gave it to His friends. He knew full well what he was about to go through in the next few days. He was about to be betrayed, be condemned to death, ultimately suffering and executed on a Roman cross for our sins. If Jesus could leave heaven and take the form of a servant in human flesh, then we also should seek to live in light of His attitude.

Encourage Others With My Life and My Story

Part 6: Encourage Others With My Life and My Story

We all have a story to share, and God wants to provide opportunity for each of us to encourage others with our story and continually-changing life. Be sensitive to the opportunities you have to humbly, tactfully, and graciously share what life is like now that you and God are walking this new road to freedom together.
